What's New about the New Web Design?

Try it on your smartphone or tablet

The new City of Monterey and Monterey Public Library Web sites are designed to be "responsive". This means that the images and text on the page will resize and rearrange themselves to fit on on your screen, whether it's a desktop computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone.

You can see how this works by resizing the window on your desktop or laptop browser, but the real test will be how successfully the site provides Library information and services to the rapidly growing number of mobile Internet users. Now that the site is public, we'll be looking carefully at which pages are most used by smartphone and tablet browsers, and how we can make this content easier to find and use. We welcome your comments!
