Monterey Public Library will present The Italian Garden Project: Reconnecting to Our Food, Our Families and the Earth, a talk by Project founder, Mary Menniti, on Saturday, May 3, at 2 p.m., in the Library Community Room.  Ms. Menniti will discuss the beauty and charm of the traditional Italian-American backyard vegetable garden and its relevance for reconnecting to our food, families and the earth.  She will share how these gardens serve as glimpses into the past that can lead to a brighter, more sustainable future.
