Rentals Our
Inclusionary Housing Ordinance requires that residential
developers who want to build or convert 10 or more residential units to designate 15% of
the project as "affordable" and offer units at below market rate prices to serve
low- and moderate- income buyers or renters. This Ordinance
calls for co-operation between the City and private housing developers to meet General
Plan goals for affordable moderate income housing. The Ordinance also contains provisions
to guarantee continued affordability of moderate income housing over time, to avoid
speculation.
