The City of Monterey operates two launch ramps for public use. There is no charge to use the ramps. Below is a brief description and directions to both of the City launch ramps.

Marina Launch Ramp

This ramp is located next to the Harbormasters Office in the Monterey Marina. This ramp has 2 lanes and is recommend for boats 30 feet and under. For vessels larger than 30 feet, we recommend launching from the Breakwater launch ramp.

Pull through trailer / vehicle parking is available in the Waterfront Lot #2 and the Depot Lot. In the Waterfront Lot #2 there are 25 metered pull through spaces reserved for vehicles with trailers from Midnight to 9:00 a.m. The Harbormaster Office also sells daily parking permits for the Waterfront Lot #2 for $12.00 per day, for a double space pull through. Permits may be purchased in advance and for multiple days.

Breakwater Launch Ramp

This ramp is located adjacent to the Breakwater Cove Marina and the United States Coast Guard Pier. The ramp is two lanes and includes an expanded vessel staging docks and a fully wheelchair-accessible gangway leading to a large, stable float. Their is a Fuel Dock adjacent to the ramp which is open everyday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Pull through vehicle and trailer parking spaces are available in the Breakwater Lot. There are 40 reserved spaces for vehicles with trailers from Midnight to 12:00 Noon. Purchase a permit from the ticket dispenser, $1.50 per hour for pull through spaces, $12.00 all day, Visa & MasterCard accepted.
