From Dec. 26 to Jan. 11, residents who have yard-waste containers should place their Christmas tree at the curb (trees must meet guidelines listed below).
After Jan. 11, trees should be cut up and put in the yard-waste container. Next year, save resources and purchase an attractive reusable tree.
Christmas tree recycling guidelines:
Cut tree into 4-foot, or smaller, sections.
No flocked trees.
Remove ALL tinsel and/or decorations.
No metal stands. Wooden stands are acceptable.
Holiday Waste, Recycling Pick-up Schedule:
No service on Dec. 25 or Jan. 1. Tuesday routes will be serviced Wednesday; Wednesday routes on Thursday; Thursday and
Friday routes will be picked up on Friday.

Keep Your Sidewalks Safe, Slip Free
Property owners are responsible for maintaining the area in front of their property and keeping it free of safety hazards.
When it rains, or during irrigation, water seeps over sidewalks and forms mossy areas where
pedestrians can slip and fall.
How to clean your sidewalk:
Use a stiff bristle broom to whisk moss and
foreign material away.
Use biodegradable soap, if needed.
Do not use bleach or other cleaners since runoff ends up in the Monterey Bay Sanctuary.

Visit the Museum
The Presidio of Monterey Museum is open and easily accessible to visitors. Visitors can enter from Artillery Street or Private Bolio Road and turn onto Corporal Ewing Road before entering the military base checkpoint area.
Museum hours are Thursday - Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday 1 to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
