Community Tapestry Tells Local Story
Now on exhibit in the Library’s Picture Book room is a silk wall hanging created by members of the community on Oct. 1, 1999, at the Library’s Sesquicentennial anniversary celebration. Guests of all ages at the event painted pictures on silk squares depicting some aspect of Monterey or the Library. The squares were then sewn together and bound with multicolored ribbons to create a wall hanging.
