Working to Support Local Schools
Education is key to a healthy, vital community.
To that end, the City has supported the Monterey Peninsula School District (MPUSD)
in a variety of ways throughout the years.
MPUSD serves the cities of Del Rey Oaks, Marina, Monterey, Sand City and
Seaside, as well as portions of Monterey County. It is a separate
organization governed by a voter-elected board.
The City is committed to the success of our youth
and MPUSD.
Monterey has invested more than $875,000 (as of summer 2004) in developing
partnerships with MPUSD. We also fund services geared toward school-age
