Monterey Fire Department's first motorized fire apparatus a 1916 Seagraves.  It came to the department gray in color.  It was nicked named the "Old Gray Mare" after pumping the Associated Oil Tank farm fire of 1924 when it pumped 72 hours continuously.  It continues to be used today in parades and public education.
