Zoning Administrator

In accordance with the City Code of Monterey (READ DISCLAIMER), the Planning Commission can delegate to the Community Development Department the authority to conduct public hearings and approve, conditionally approve, or disapprove certain minor permits and variances that meet criteria adopted by the Panning Commission by resolution. The Zoning Administrator acting for the Community Development Department schedules public hearings as needed.

Appeal of Zoning Administrator Decisions
Zoning Administrator decisions may be appealed to the Planning Commission within ten days on forms available here in Adobe PDF or in the Planning Division during business hours.
