The Planning Division is here to answer your questions and hear your comments and suggestions as they pertain to the planning in Monterey. The Planning Division provides professional guidance and technical assistance to various public hearings and boards and the public; implements and monitors city growth and development applications and recommends action on such applications to the Council, Planning Commission, Architectural Review Committee, Historical Preservation Commission, and the Zoning Administrator.

The Planning Division’s hours are Monday through Friday as follows:

Open:     8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon
    Closed: 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m.
    Open:     1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Note: Planners are available for citizen counter visits or telephone inquiries between the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and in the afternoon between 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
