The History of
Monterey’s Green
Building Program
The establishment of the Green Building Program
involved a year-long community process aiming to create a successful
program for Monterey. The process culminated with the unanimous
approval of the program by our City Council. We thank the many
community members and partner organizations that provided feedback
throughout the process to ensure we created a program beneficial to
the Monterey built environment.
