Budget News and Updates
The City of Monterey is preparing for budget challenges
in the next 12-24 months due to the downturn in the National, State and
local economies. To keep our community informed about the steps being taken
during the current fiscal year (through June 2009) and plans being developed
for the next fiscal year (July 2009 - June 2010), this Web page will be the
place to go for the latest information.
The City will be scheduling meetings with the community, neighborhood and
business associations, and Boards and Commissions to describe the evolving
budget challenges and seek input on solutions.
Engaging the community in our budget discussions will vital to the success
of establishing the City’s long-term financial plan.
