General Fund Revenue & Expenditure Trends


The following charts show General Fund revenue and expenditure trends from fiscal year 1991 through 2000. General Fund operating expenditure increases have averaged 4.3% per year since 1991. The large expenditure increase in 1993 is due to the opening of the Sports Center. Also, several new programs and services have been added or enhanced since 1997.

Adjusted for inflation, General Fund expenditures have increased by about 1% per year over the past nine years. This is a minimal increase in view of the many new programs and services that have been added during this time.
