1999-2000 Public Works Department Expenditures: $13,653,470

Budget Highlights:

The Presidio Public Works Agency Fund is included in the budget for the first time. This fund will account for all revenues and expenses associated with the base operations agreement between the City and the U.S. Army. The City has contracted to maintain the facilities and infrastructure at the Presidio on a full-cost reimbursement basis with the Army. More than $1.6 million has been included for Presidio base operations expenses this year, along with another $1 million + for special capital projects. A new mechanic position has been added in the Vehicle Management program. A new parks maintenance worker has also been added to maintain the Custom House Plaza area under contract with the State Department of Parks and Recreation.
