General Fund Revenue & Expenditure Trends


The following charts show General Fund revenue and expenditure trends from fiscal year 1990 through 1999. General Fund actual expenditure increases have averaged 4.6% per year since 1990. The large expenditure increase in 1993 is due to the opening of the Sports Center. Also, several new programs and positions were added during 1997. Note that capital improvement expenditures are not included.

Adjusted for inflation, General Fund expenditures have increased by only 1% per year over the past nine years. This is a minimal increase in view of the many new programs and services that have been added during this time.
