of the FY 2008-09 Neighborhood Improvement Program

NIP Com. Council Deadlines Activity
      10/24/07 Nomination for NIP Representatives & Alternates to Construction Management Office for Council approval at 1st January meeting.
      1/24/08 All State Forms as SF 700 returned to City Clerk.
1/24/08       Kick-off orientation meeting Council Chambers, 7:00 p.m. Hand out NIP project submittal from Focus Newsletter to appropriate neighborhood reps.
      2/15/08 Project submittal deadline to Construction Management, 353 Camino El Estero, Monterey CA 93940 Nomination Form
      All year, until 3/31/08 Project review and estimating.
      2/15/08 All traffic-related projects will be sent to traffic committee for review and preliminary approval, to forward to Council. 
  2/21/08     All park/park-related submittal presented to P & RC. 
2/20/08       Preliminary screening of all NIP project submittal (duplicates, unsupported by neighbors, not a capital improvement project, etc.) (weeding out process) Council Chambers, 7:00 p.m. 
  3/18/08     P & RC review of and comment on park/park-related projects for NIP Committee. 
    3/20/08   Present traffic related projects that effect circulation to City Council for review/comments if applicable. 
4/3/08       NIP Committee Review of Projects – Council Chambers, 7:00 - 10:00 p.m. (Alta Mesa – Monterey Vista Neighborhoods) 
4/10/08       2nd Review meeting - Council Chambers, 7:00 - 10:00 p.m. (New Monterey -- Citywide) 
4/16/08       Van Tour - meet at 3:00 p.m. in parking lot behind City Hall. Follow-up meeting at CONA, 7:00 pm - 9:00 p.m. (Alta Mesa -- Monterey Vista Neighborhoods) Potluck 6:00-7:00 p.m. 
4/17/08       2nd Follow-up meeting – Hilltop Center 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. (New Monterey –Citywide) 
4/24/08       Project selection – Council Chambers, 7:00 pm - 10:00 p.m. 
  5/13/08     Present projects to PC for compliance to General Plan and Circulation Element. 
  5/15/08     Present selected P&R related projects to P&RC for their information and recommended approval.
 
    5/20/08   Present projects to City Council at Council meeting for their information and first review. 
    6/17/08   Present NIP Program to City Council for approval.
