City parks are open to the public daily. Please remember that no one is allowed to remain in a City park after closing hours (between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.). Thank you for your help and cooperation in this matter.

Veteran's Memorial Park

Veteran's Memorial Park is a popular and beautiful 50 acre park in the forested hills of Monterey. Located only a mile from Downtown Monterey, this park is an affordable and fun way to stay overnight in the Monterey Peninsula. Besides campgrounds, the park includes hiking trails under towering Monterey Pine forest and bay views. You will also find BBQ picnic areas, play equipment, turf and lawn playfield and a basketball court. A Park Attendant resides in the park. Huckleberry Hill Nature Preserve is an 81-acre park with numerous, well established hiking trails. Hike through rare Monterey pine forest, observe wildlife, and enjoy beautiful vistas of the bay and coastline. Pedestrian access is through Veteran's Memorial Park.
