SEWAGE SPILL UPDATE: Monterey Beach Near Wharf One Reopened

Water quality update, October 31:
On October 29, a section of the beach adjacent to Monterey Bay Coastal Trail near Wharf One in Monterey was closed due to a sewage spill that resulted from a sewer pipe leak. Bacterial results came back today under alert limits. The beach was reopened and all notices removed by County Health. However, since this is the "First Flush" rain event, County Health is advising to avoid water contact for three (3) days after the end of this rain event.

PUMPKIN PANDEMONIUM/COMMUNITY TRICK-OR-TREAT, 2:30-4:30PM. Visit the Del Monte Center for free pumpkins (while supplies last) and candy stations. www.delmontecenter.com

If you are trick-or-treating in the neighborhoods, visit Monterey Fire Stations (except Station #6 at the Airport) for free glow in the dark necklaces.
