The Monterey Police Department Records Lobby will be closed for construction on July 6, 2017 and is expected to reopen mid-August 2017. A temporary Records lobby will be located in the modular building in the rear Police parking lot. The temporary lobby will be open Monday through Friday, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Monterey has prepared a Negative Declaration, pursuant to the requirements of CEQA, for the City of Monterey Detention Basin Management Project.  The proposed Negative Declaration and Initial Study, as well as referenced documents, are available for review at the City of Monterey, Planning Office, Colton Hall, 1st Floor, 570 Pacific Street, Monterey, CA 93940 and on the City website at: http://www.monterey.org/Services/Planning. In accordance with time limits mandated by State law, written comments on this Negative Declaration and Initial Study will be accepted from:

  • Cooper Molera Adobe State Historical Park, Polk and Munras (Non-City Project) This project may impact parking and traffic in the area at times. Expected completion in Spring 2018.
  • Cal Am Monterey Pipeline Project (Non-City Project) - also see www.watersupplyproject.org/
    Pipeline construction will continue on Madison Street between Van Buren and Pacific Streets. Work takes place between 7 am and 5 pm weekdays only. Traffic controls, including necessary lane closures and detours, will be posted.

  • Highway 68/Highway 1 Roundabout (monterey.org/hh68)
    There will be three nights of paving: Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday nights. This requires closing the southbound Highway 1 off-ramp and on-ramp, including access to and from the Pebble Beach Highway 1 Gate, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. There will also be flagging along Highway 68 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. to accommodate the paving operation. No closures are currently planned for day work, but there will be trucks entering and leaving the work zone.
