12/08/2016: Presidio and City of Monterey Win Army Community Partnership Award

The Presidio Municipal Services Agency (PMSA), a partnership between the City of Monterey and the Presidio of Monterey, was awarded the Army Community Partnership Award from the U.S. Army. On December 6, Colonel Lawrence Brown, Garrison Commander of the Presidio of Monterey, Deputy City Manager Dino Pick and PMSA staff attended an awards ceremony at the Pentagon, hosted by Under Secretary of the Army Patrick Murphy.

NEW START DATE: CalAm Monterey Pipeline Project impacting Madison Street beginning December 19

MADISON STREET CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE – WATER MAIN RELOCATIONS (Phase 1)
Here is a copy of the letter CalAm is sending to affected residents. Please help spread the word and direct people to the communication channels listed below.

Existing Water Line Relocations: Work will begin at Madison and Monroe Streets and head toward Pacific Street.

Crews will work in approximately one block sections at a time. Construction is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, December 19 and is anticipated to take about two weeks. (Original start date was Dec. 14)

12/3/2016: Double Stabbing in Monterey

On Saturday, December 3, 2016, at approximately 1:21 am, the Monterey Police Department (MPD) responded to the Blue Fin Café & Billiards, 685 Cannery Row in Monterey on the report of a stabbing. MPD arrived and located one individual with a stab wound at Cannery Row and Prescott. He was transported to a Medical Trauma Center for treatment.

On Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at approximately 1:41 am, the Monterey Police Department (MPD) responded to the 600 block of Wave Street in Monterey on the report of gunshots being fired.  MPD arrived and located one victim at the entrance to the Cannery Row Parking Garage, located in the 600 block of Wave Street.

11/22/2016: Monterey Police Officers Save Despondent Mans Life

On Monday November 21, 2016, at approximately 4:07 p.m., Monterey Police Officers responded to the 300 block of Glenwood Circle in Monterey on a request from neighbors to check on the welfare of an individual who had not been seen recently.  A first floor apartment was flooded with water, which had originated in the second floor apartment where the individual lived.
