• Homework Helpers - Homework Helpers is a volunteer program that offers homework assistance and academic enrichment activities to students after regular school hours at afterschool centers on a one-to-one basis. Contact the Homework Helpers Coordinator at 831.646.5604
  
• CERT/Community Emergency Response Team - Learn what to do during a disaster, discover how you can react, assist your neighbors and survive in your own "backyard" should an emergency arise. • Recycling Programs - Community education programs - including school sites. New waste-management program matches youth groups to City recycling/waste management projects. Participating groups receive a stipend for participation. Contact Volunteer Services at 646.3719.
  
• Volunteen - Summer volunteer program is for teens 13 years of age and older. Focus is placed on helping young teens prepare for a future job through the application, interview process. Contact Volunteer Services at 646.3719.

• Teens 16 years or older who love being around children can earn money during summer by working for the Recreation Department.
   
• The Monterey Public Library has afterschool and weekend employment opportunities shelving books as a Library Page. Contact Katie Schwirzke at 646.3477.  
  

• School Resource Officers - School Resource Officers teach law and safety related courses such as bicycle/vehicle safety, drug awareness, and building self-esteem.
